Cross-curriculum
standards:
●
Students will learn information on
other languages and cultures as they learn new dances
●
It is important to learn the
history of the people and their culture from the place that the dance
originated
Differentiation:
●
Lessons will be modified to fit
all students needs
●
Students should feel comfortable
vocalizing to the coach/teacher prior to the class what is needed to him/her to
succeed and the teacher will make all necessary adjustments
●
This will include but is not
limited to having a teaching assistant going at a reduced pace, so the student
receives equal attention
Technology:
●
All lessons will be recorded and
posted online for students that may be absent for whatever reason
●
They are expected to keep up with
the homework because they have access to the lessons on video and are expected
to come to the next class being able to present what they missed the previous
time
Written
Component:
●
Students that are absent should be
able to write their reactions to the video of the lesson and email it to the
instructor for attendance credit
●
Students should be able to write
what they learned at the end of each lesson in their dance journal that should
be kept in their dance bag
●
When students practice, they will
utilize this journal, so they do not forget the new information
Careers
Skills:
●
Students will gain attention and
listening skills
●
They will learn manners including
waiting their turn to speak and respecting people at a higher level than themselves
like their coach/teacher
●
Students will learn to be
self-responsible since they are required to practice what they learn so they do
not forget the new information
